Fair Usage Policy
Ziffysign Service Reasonable Use Limits
Introduction
At Ziffysign, we believe businesses should be able to send documents for signature without worrying about arbitrary per-document fees or complex usage-based pricing.
Our Unlimited Plan is designed to support normal business usage for small and medium-sized organizations with up to 50 users. To ensure reliable service, security, platform performance, and fair access for all customers, use of the Service is subject to this Fair Usage Policy ("Policy").
This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Purpose of This Policy
The purpose of this Policy is to:
- Maintain the reliability and performance of the Service,
- Prevent abuse, misuse, spam, or excessive automated activity,
- Protect platform security and email deliverability, and
- Ensure a consistent experience for all customers.
We aim to apply this Policy reasonably, transparently, and in good faith.
2. What “Unlimited” Means
"Unlimited" documents and signature requests means there are no fixed per-document or per-signature charges for normal business use within the scope of your subscription plan.
The Service is intended to support genuine operational business workflows, including:
- Contracts and agreements
- Sales documents
- HR and hiring paperwork
- Employee onboarding
- Vendor and procurement workflows
- Customer and internal approvals
- Compliance documentation
- Similar signing activities
3. Acceptable Business Usage
The Unlimited Plan is intended for reasonable and typical usage by small and medium-sized organizations operating legitimate business workflows.
Most customers will never encounter any restrictions under this Policy. We do not impose standard monthly document or signature limits for normal usage patterns.
4. Prohibited or Excessive Usage
To protect the platform and other customers, the following activities are not permitted under the Unlimited Plan.
4.1 Automated Bulk or Spam Activity
You may not use the Service primarily for mass unsolicited signature requests, spam campaigns, automated high-volume transactional messaging unrelated to genuine agreements, or unusually large-scale automated sending inconsistent with normal SMB operations.
4.2 Non-Business or Abusive Usage
The Service may not be used for fraudulent activity, deceptive practices, phishing, unlawful purposes, or activities that violate applicable laws or regulations.
4.3 Storage or Archival Abuse
Ziffysign is an electronic signature platform, not a general-purpose cloud storage or archival system. You may not use the Service primarily for file hosting, backup storage, long-term archival unrelated to signing workflows, or storing excessive volumes of inactive or unrelated documents.
4.4 Bot, Scripted, or Test Traffic Abuse
Excessive automated activity that creates disproportionate system load is not permitted, including bot-generated signing, simulated workflows, stress testing, load testing, API abuse, or non-human usage patterns. (Reasonable development and integration testing is permitted.)
4.5 Resale or Shared Service Usage
Subscriptions are intended for use within a single organization. You may not resell access, operate a public/shared signing service, provide signing-as-a-service to third parties, or share one subscription across multiple unrelated businesses without authorization.
4.6 Activity Affecting Platform Reliability
Usage that materially impacts platform stability, system performance, infrastructure reliability, security, or email deliverability may be reviewed and restricted to protect the ability of other customers to use the Service reliably.
5. Monitoring and Review
To maintain platform reliability and prevent abuse, Ziffysign may monitor usage patterns, including document activity, signature request volumes, storage utilization, API usage, email sending behavior, and other operational metrics.
Monitoring is performed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws. We do not routinely review document contents except where necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or customer support purposes.
6. What Happens if Usage Is Excessive
If we identify usage that appears inconsistent with this Policy, we will generally attempt to contact the customer first to better understand the usage pattern and work toward a reasonable solution.
Depending on the nature and severity of the activity, Ziffysign may:
- Temporarily throttle activity;
- Apply reasonable technical limits;
- Request changes to usage behavior;
- Suspend certain features; or
- Suspend or terminate the account in cases of serious abuse, unlawful activity, or repeated violations.
Where reasonably possible, we aim to provide advance notice before taking restrictive action.
7. Email Deliverability Protection
To protect sender reputation and email deliverability for all customers, Ziffysign may restrict activity that generates unusually high bounce rates, triggers spam complaints, harms email reputation, or otherwise threatens the integrity of our email infrastructure.
Customers are responsible for ensuring recipients have a legitimate reason to receive signature requests.
8. API and Integration Usage
API access, integrations, and automation features are intended for reasonable operational business workflows.
Ziffysign may apply technical safeguards such as rate limits, concurrency controls, queueing, or other protective mechanisms to maintain platform reliability and security.
9. Good Faith Enforcement
We understand that businesses grow and usage patterns may evolve over time.
Our goal is not to penalize successful or growing customers, but to prevent misuse that negatively affects the platform or other users. We aim to enforce this Policy reasonably and proportionately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Fair Usage Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, security, or product changes.
Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
